CONSERVATIVE FABULOUSITY

Wedding are indeed the bride's day,or are they not? Well, she is at the tailors taking measurements for the parents, the brides maid, herself, and the groom? He is on what we in Nigerian would say OYO ISLAND[On Your Own] lol. Though he still has to be dashing, yeah?

Contrary to popular belief, muslin brides are rising to the occasion of gorgeousness at their weddings. I always had this notion that the Hijab was the only ornament to touch up the Muslim bride. But alas! more is sprung in wedding expression. Muslim designers have sort more flexible styles for their brides, roaming within the confines of their religious prescriptions .
Back home in the Northern part of Nigeria, I always saw the bride in floor length Hijabs in the consistent colour of brown. To think that that is the day the bride can live out her Cinderella fairy tale.

Regardless, the bride is indeed the center of attraction for the big day and there is no denying that the versatility of the Modern Muslim bride has brought new name to the Conservative Cinderella. A typical Muslim bride is not allow to expose her legs, arms, torso and other delicate parts of her body which is why the Hijab was widely used and still used as wedding regalia. The Modern Muslim bride now explores ways to be both the boom shell and still express the tenets of modesty

Nigerian Muslim brides have not only paid due homage to this evolution, they have also created a niche that is becoming positively infectious. The dresses are elaborate, heavily embellished and most of the time with a rainbow affair

PERFECT APPLIQUE- PAO LO SEBASTINE

To say that his dresses are beautiful is a sheer understatement to the artistic creations of this South Australian designer. Paul Vasileff launched his fashion brand, Paolo Sebastian when his was just 16 years old. His line in seamstry is attributed to his grandmother from who he learnt the art of garment creation. By 10, Paul was already creating garments for his friends and a Year 12 project saw Paul organised his first fashion show with over 500 guests in attendance.

“I was a keen drawer from a very young age and would always draw pictures of women in dresses; they were ball gowns and very elaborate. I made dresses out of newspaper and made my friends wear them,”

A romanticist at heart, Paolo Sebastian fuses established style staples with a contemporary edge, creating unique handmade garments that infatuate those with a truly romantic heart. His dresses are created with particular attention to details and applique with an aura of sensuality and audacity.

At just twenty five years old, Vasileff’s achievements include featuring at London Fashion Week 2010 and graduating from Milan’s Europeo Istituto di Design. A ground-breaking show at Sydney’s 2012 Fashion Palette launched the label into the international sphere.
A perfectionist with a penchant for classic beauty, the Adelaide designer has impressed the industry with his maturity and scope of his creative vision. “I would not be here without the support of my amazing friends and family. Thanks to them I have realized my dreams and continue to create designs that honour the people in my life.”

His play on fabric is almost like Pun in poetry. He plays with them with a vision in mind and eventually produces dresses that have like silhouettes but with a new dimension in execution. I am mostly obsessed with his Autumn-Winter 2014/2015 collection [The Sleeping Garden] and the Summer-Spring 2015-2016 collection

The detailing on this dresses is more than artistic. Its versatility [in terms of exploration] is astonishing. The floral applique on the dress makes it dreamy and thus fit for the bride [colour in bridal fashion has become versatile and audacious and this is definitely not too far from the traditional colour]. The silhouette also makes it a great choice for classic events and functions. Paul sure does understand the meaning of Exceptional in simplicity.

According to him, 'Our designs are crafted by hand. Each piece is like a piece of art and it has to be treated that way.'

According to  all eighteen pieces in his A/W collection'The Sleeping Garden'  are adorned with elaborate bead work and embroidery; much of it taken from hand-sketched designs by twenty four year old designer Vasileff. Each tiny bead is hand-drawn into every sketch. Vasileff says that whilst each design takes mere minutes to sketch, each piece’s detailed bead work design took him weeks to draw.

The South Australian fashion label, famous for its attention to detail, has gone above and beyond with The Sleeping Garden. The designs, featuring delicate three-dimensional blossoms, willow branch beading and romantic bow detailing, has been hand sewn by the very beaders who bead for iconic fashion houses such as Elie Saab and Givenchy.

The Sleeping Garden is glamourous and romantic, but it is also a little dark and mysterious. That duality is captured in the campaign images, which were shot at sunset in the national woodlands. Vasileff said that “working on location is always a risk, but we knew that this collection needed to have the wild, dreamlike quality.” This collection is fluid and sumptuous and extravagant and moreish.

Who wouldn't want to be chic, romantic and yet audacious at the same time. These dresses are a dream reality, a visual appeal, floral fantasy laced with delicate beauty.

...let the Paoblo Sebastian fans please stand up?...lol
